Who We Are

Can't We Just Name the Product Ourselves?
Certainly; however, we've found that without a dedicated naming team and process, an ad hoc strategy develops that deprives you of a great brand name. We specialize in branding — our love of language and linguistics merge together to create compelling names.

Why Can't We Get Our Name First and Worry About the Rest Later?
Unfortunately, an underworld has developed in the domain world. Cybersquatters acquire these response vehicles upon every new product launch or rumor. Their goal? To hold them for ransom. Our behind-the-scenes approach reduces your risk of ever having your domain name held hostage.

Can't We Hold a Naming Contest?
Yes, but the chances of creating a successful name are severely against you. Why? Because contestants often submit their ideas while standing at a trade booth — typically spending no more than 5 minutes on the assignment. And, the contestants don't know your naming preferences, the competitive landscape, trademark law, or constructional linguistics to ensure that your name is appropriate and available. Worse, you then feel compelled to use the name and award a prize, even though you know that there is no winner in this game. We typically spend 70 to 200 hours on your project and will generate over 1000 ideas!

What About Naming the Company After the Founder?
Many companies have high-profile CEOs, but that doesn't mean the burden of the company should rest on their shoulders. We've found that self-named companies often run into ruin. Customers may only deal with the top official on the letterhead, effectively rendering other managers superfluous. And, that top-named executive may sell the company and discover that he has sold his name as well, and is prevented by trademark law from ever working in the only industry that he knows and loves. A unique, memorable name not tied to an owner is a better route to follow.

Can You Work with My Ad Agency and Public Relations Firm?
Of course! We develop the name and branding strategy that provides the essential underpinning for all of your marketing messages. By working with us, you know exactly your brand personality and positioning so that your advertising and press information is consistent and compelling. From concept development to product launch, we are your full team partner.
