Postal Credit Union Changes Name to Eagle
By Paula Moore, Business Journal Senior Reporter
After more than a year of research, the Denver Postal
Credit Union has a new name.
The Arvada-based financial institution is now called
Eagle Legacy Credit Union. Its slogan is Your Wings of Financial
Security.
The credit union was the Denver areas ninth-largest
last year, with $161 million in assets, according to the Denver
Business Journals list of largest credit unions. It currently
has $170 million in assets and 28,000 members.
Last year, the 70-year-old institution decided it
needed a makeover to reflect its broader membership and geographic
boundaries. The credit union has expanded beyond postal workers
to residents of cities such as Littleton, Denver, and Arvada. It
also serves area businesses from tree-servicing companies to pro
sports franchises such as the Colorado Avalanche hockey team.
The credit union hired The Nuancing® Group consulting
firm of San Diego in May 2001 to help come up with a new, compelling
and relevant name, according to Nuancings president,
Liz Goodgold.
Earlier this year, the credit union rolled out new,
casual uniforms for employees as part of its new branding effort.
