Meet The Team

The Nuancing® Group specializes in identity consulting. We create your name, tagline, and domain so that your customers receive one consistent message.

Meet the Founder
Liz brings her creative and strategic insight culled from working for such consumer giants as Quaker Oats, Times Mirror, and Macmillan Publishing. She took a business and economics list from its infancy for Times Mirror and turned it into a $9 million revenue stream. At Quaker Oats, she conceived of an entirely new channel of distribution for 100% Natural Cereal: selling it to the growing frozen yogurt and ice cream chains as a topping. In less than 6 months, the cereal was the exclusive granola topping in more than 1500 Baskin-Robbins and TCBY stores!

Liz is a popular speaker on marketing-related topics, and her views can be found in Inc. magazine, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Brandweek, and other print, broadcast, and Internet media. She is also the marketing columnist for Entrepreneur magazine, where she shares her expertise and whip-smart branding techniques with over one million monthly readers in her 3 monthly columns entitled "Marketing Buzz," Quick Picks," and "Retail Register." During his tenure with the firm, he also designed all product packaging, point-of-purchase, marketing materials, partnered in all product design with the CEO, and was responsible for overseeing and coordinating printing, vendors and production, which was handled domestically and in the Far East.

Scott's independant career with his own compay, Ogilart, allowed him the opportunity to maximize his talents in many different fields. His exceptional creativity, paired with his logical approach to design, is in force for clients including Employment Systems, the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Manulife Woodson. Meet the Director of Information
Rani Vaughn is the Director of Technical Writing at The Nuancing® Group, where she oversees all copy for the company and its clients. She cut her creative teeth as copywriter for weight-loss giant Jenny Craig, Inc., and ascended to Associate Creative Producer for Realage.com, an award-winning website. There she wrote and directed all advertising projects for the website and its clients. She has developed successful campaigns for powerhouses including Oprah, Mazda, American Express, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Oceanspray, and the Gemological Institute of America.

An accomplished writer and editor, Rani has crafted copy in various media, including print ads, radio, books, product packaging, and online content. She also excels in creating names and taglines. Meet the Manager
Barbara Roberts is Nuancing's Manager, and she provides inspiration, encouragement, and leadership to her team and her clients. Barbara has the unique ability to appreciate and understand the customer's concerns: As Regional Sales Manager for Meistergram, Inc., she recognized that, in an emerging industry, procedures are critical, although never on the priority list. She took it upon herself to write a how-to handbook that became the first "primer" in the embroidery business — and the entrepreneurial company's competitive advantage.

As an established and accomplished wordsmith, Barbara brings her creative expression to every project. Her names, taglines, and strategic recommendations have been selected by clients such as Eagle Legacy Credit Union, Medoris, Kinzan, IP Strategy, and Myriad Software.

Barbara is also a working fine artist, with over 40 years' experience in several mediums, including oils, acrylic, and pen and ink. She has created mascots, illustrations, and other handcrafted artwork for clients including Arcoa, Eagle Legacy Credit Union, Burroughs Corporation, and the National Corvair Convention.
